Paid media landing page brief
Use this template before designing or buying traffic. It aligns the audience, message, proof, action, and measurement that turn a campaign click into a useful business signal.
USE IT FOR
A new paid landing page, an underperforming destination, or a campaign where the ad and post-click experience are not telling the same story.
The brief
Five sections before the page goes live.
Write short, specific answers. If an answer cannot be supported by the current evidence, name that uncertainty rather than filling the page with a stronger claim.
Decision & audience
- □What buyer decision should this page make easier?
- □Which audience, use case, and awareness level does the campaign reach?
- □What problem language or trigger is present before the click?
Message & offer
- □What single message connects the ad to the page without a bait-and-switch?
- □What is the offer, and why is it useful at this stage of the decision?
- □What should the visitor understand before they see the form or CTA?
Proof & friction
- □Which approved proof, customer context, or product evidence resolves the main uncertainty?
- □Which claims need a source, qualifier, timeframe, or removal?
- □What could make a qualified visitor hesitate: price, effort, risk, trust, or relevance?
Action & qualification
- □What is the one meaningful next action: demo, audit, trial, consultation, or another commitment?
- □What information is genuinely needed now, and what can wait until later?
- □What happens after submission, who owns it, and when can the buyer expect a response?
Measurement & learning
- □What is the primary conversion event and how is it defined?
- □Which page, campaign, source, and lifecycle fields need to be preserved?
- □What result would change the next creative, audience, offer, page, or sales-handoff decision?
Before launch
A good page brief does not replace a measurement plan.
Confirm the conversion event, form routing, attribution fields, consent requirements, and sales follow-up before treating campaign performance as an answer.
Use the result to learn about the buyer and the path—not to declare a channel successful from clicks alone.

Built for the working session
A template should make ownership visible.
Use the structure to bring customer context, a focused constraint, and the people responsible for the next decision into the same conversation.
